Arizona FABO Members Local Shows & Events Interest

-
Ok Arizona FABO members, who's doing the Good Guys next weekend. I entered last month. My plan is to pick up my credentials on Thursday, do the swap on Friday and the car show on Saturday. After the days events I'll head over to the Pavillions for a bit. If you happen to make it stop by and say hi. I'll be sitting with a couple of Moparts members. Hey COdartman, bring that beautiful 70 340 Swinger on down.

We might be heading down to West World next weekend for the Good Guys event. I'll be looking for your sweet GTS!

Dave,

I always try to get out to the Good Guys show - will keep an eye out for your Dart!

Well looks like the car won't make it. Did some cooling mods last week and fired the car up for a short drive the other day. Well, the cooling issues I had turned out to be failing freeze plugs. got the car home and jacked it up. All three of the passenger side freeze plusg are leaking with the middle plug appearing to be compromised. This is not a fix that Bar Leak can handle. Looks like the motor will have to come out.

So, I'm going tomorrow with a Moparts friend to the swap and taking my Granddaughter on Saturday so it looks like I'll be doing the looky loo thing.

Missed GoodGuys...have family in town for the holiday.
Should be a go for the swap this Saturday (11/26) at the fairgrounds though:thumbsup::poke::steering:

Fairgrounds swap was a bust...mopar-wise.
Maybe better luck this sunday at the monthly GCC swap.:elmer::steering:

Here's a cool sounding event for next Saturday, Dec 10th. I'll be watching some burnouts from the stands :D

Happy to share the self-propelled bleachers.
Have to remember that parking spot for the next event there!
Havent seen that much tire smoke in one place for a long time.

LMAO @ self propelled bleachers :) I didn't see any tire smoke...Did U LOL

FUN day...I still think the El Cam did the best ones. I hope they repeat this type of event again!! The last pic is the asphalt still burning for several minutes after the fact...

Hey folks,
Our moderator 6pk2goDemon has moved the posts that had to do with forming a MOPAR mechanics co-op out from this discussion and off into it's own newly package discussion called "Looking to make MOPAR friends". Please consider re-joining the discussion focused on forming new friendships with local AZ MOPAR mechanics and helping each other with our projects.
Here's the FABO link:
Looking to make MOPAR friends
Thank you,

SABOTAGED

I have been having problems with the car when just started. I figured it was the electric choke, but was more concerned about getting the body work done first.
Yesterday, the car had problems starting, seemed flooded. I opened the hood to check on the choke and found a couple problems.
Seems my car was SABOTAGED (no I am not kidding)
Not really sure when or by who. Near as I can remember the very last time the car was not totally in my control was the last car show I went to. Hood up, Hood lights on and I am not with the car. I am over getting a t-shirt.
Again, this is the ONLY time the car was not in my control.
Someone pulled the gas tank vent off the back of the air filter and attached it to the choke nipple on the Edelbrock 1406 carb. Does not sound like much, but that accounts for ALL the problems I have had the last month or so.

So from now on, I will never leave the car unattended when the hood is up. If I need to leave the car, the hood goes down. Period, End of discussion
Reminds me I want to put hood pins on it

Hard to imagine someone could get away with screwing with someone's car at a show without someone calling them on it.
Then again...

Maybe you were sleep screwing up. :D

You would think so. But it takes less than 10 seconds(maybe 5) to pull the hose and slide it on the carb. If you lean over the right side fender to "look at something" you would be pretty well hidden to do this. Hell, maybe it was done while I was standing there looking at something else.

When I opened the hood to look for a problem, I immediately spotted this. This is NOT a mistake that I would make. Granted, I can make a lot of mistakes, and I do. BUT NOT THIS ONE

There is the possibility, as it is so obvious, that it was intended as a joke. Knowing I would spot it fast. But it is not a joke on a car I worked the last 42 months, working on most every day

If I had a REALLY GOOD friend do that as a joke he might live through it. :D
Had a guy thinking he was going to be funny swap the plug wires on one of my bikes, but what he didn't realize was that the coils both fired at the same time (just one cylinder was on the exhaust stroke when they did)
Of course it fired right up and ran as it always did, and it took me days to explain that to him. :D

:D

A joke would have to be by someone I know and I would assume that they would send me a notice, here on FABO, telling me about it. Way before now.
I am not happy as I am positive this was done by a stranger

Phoenix Drag Reunion was cool. A bunch of old school hotrods including several vintage slingshots...some to run and others for display. Lots of 60's muscle all over. Not much of a swap though.
I'm a little biased but the best thing I saw all morning was this...
