Lokar throttle cable with Edelbrock 650

I've used Lokar throttle & kickdown cable combo assemblies with no problems. This is my first time hooking it up to an Edelbrock carb. I have everything hooked up correctly and the throttle cable has been cut to fit and operates very smoothly. The problem is there doesn't seem to be enough throw with the gas pedal. With foot off the pedal I have the cable barely loose at all, maybe even slightly tight in fact, to take out any of the slack. If I floor it, there's still room to get to WOT, like I need another 1/8" or 1/4" of cable movement. I removed the clevis from the end of the cable and it is hooked up correctly. There's no play in the mount at the firewall, in fact I used a washer on each side to ensure no play.

Not sure what to do here. Did anyone use a linkage bracket or anything when hooking it up to the Edelbrock carb?

Anything to adjust down on the pedal? I ensured that the pedal isn't hitting the cable mount.
