'64 or 65 A-body 4-speed 833 transmission
A used ’64 or 65 A-body 4-speed 833 transmission assembly.
It comes as pictured: with shifter pad (no shifter), with reverse shifter arm and missing one shift lever.
Casting numbers are:
Case C956396 10x7
Tail housing C95868P 10x8?
Cover C95664J 10–22
Unit was full of clean fluid and unit seams to shift smooth. Unit drained for shipping.
This transmission has been sitting for 30+ years in my possession and most likely has been sitting for a while before I got it – so I would recommend at least resealing it (needs a cover gasket for certain). Going through it is probably a good idea (but I don’t think anything is broken or wrong with it).
I bought a ’69 Road Runner automatic car with a truck load of parts in 1986, and this was part of that package.
It has been in my garage (in Oklahoma City) collecting dust all of this time – so time for it to go.
I’ve never owned an A-body nor anything older than ’67 (note: I’m at For FMJ Bodies Only website, a lot).
Other than removing the side cover (and finger tighten it back on) I don’t know its history nor have I done anything with this unit (except for tripping over it).
I would like $425.00 (US) for this (including freight to lower 48 states). I don’t mind shipping elsewhere but freight difference will be up to you.
Item comes as seen in picture (no other clutch or shifter components are available).

If a local pickup, I will reduce price $100.00.
Otherwise I will build a crate for unit to be shipped in.
