Shortened my steering column today
Working on 67 valiant. TTI shorty headers. Got rid of the 3 on the tree column for a floor shift column cause I put a 4 speed in it. After I Did the engine/ trans swap the end of the column was about an eight of an inch away from the header tube. Prolly good enough but I like space.
Here's what I did. Pulled the column out and took it apart. Cut 2 inches off the outer tube and 2 inches off the inner tube. Moved the shaft lock ring up 2 inches and put it back together.
