The search for traction has always been a big issue with slot cars. The additional traction magnets is one method an alternative is using some after market tires sometimes without any traction magnets. A thorough cleaning of the track and tires helps a lot too.

I have not done too much racing with digital controls. An oval with six cars on two lanes sounds like it could be a lot of fun. Being able to race against an autonomous car when there's nobody to race with is a fantastic feature.

You 're doing great stuff!

Thanks. - That YouTube video I posted really knocked my socks off. It surprised me how much more realism they've been able to add to this hobby. I hope you took the time to watch it. I've considered trying some of the other tires out there but thought I'd give the magnets my first shot. So far I've seen some improvement but it's really easy to add too much down force. - And you're right about that dust. Even though our basement doesn't have a big problem with it, it doesn't take much to make those cars lose adhesion.
