273 vs 318
I can speak from actual experience, as I had a 68 Barracuda with a 318, and I swapped it out for a rebuilt stock commando 273. Both engines in the same vehicle ran within a hair of each other in the quarter mile, low 16's if I recall. The 318 had more low end torque and the 273 had more mid range and top end, but over a quarter of a mile they were the same. The 273 did have more smile factor when you kicked it down from a roll.
