pulling crank gear off with crowsfoot puller

I only used 2 bolts with the puller, and
the bolt heads barely grab the gear. The copper wire was sufficient
to hold the bolt heads from slipping off the gear as I pulled.
This is a slant six crank. Don't know if it works on others.
