I run the early 108 version and advanced 4 degrees in my 383. With at least 3.91 or higher gears and a decent convertor it is fine!
I have had it since 86 but with 4.56 gears with a 9" convertor. Got my car in mid 7's on the 1/8 with cast iron and full exhaust with pro-trac street tires.
Now that I have 3.55 gears I would like to downgrade it to the 284 or a more modern grind.
