I am on there as Rainy Day (obviously not my real name) ...been like that since I signed on like 2.5 years ago and I never heard them say anything about that requirment
I got away with it for almost 8 years and then last spring, they locked my account until i provided them a photo id. They ad me tape over my address and birth date on my drivers license and send a picture to them.
