I have a 73 dart swinger and would like to convert to a 71 or 72 nose. Aside from the hood, fenders, grill, head lights, what else is required from the 71/ 72 years, what else am I going to need? Are the hood latches the same? Some tell me I may need doors from a 70 thru 72 to make work, but to me they look the same thru all of the years.

You can keep the doors you have now if you don't mind not having the vent window, all the body lines will line up between the '73 parts and the '70-'72 parts. To do what you are planning to do you'll need all the bolt on sheetmetal parts from the cowl forward.

Thanks, is there any supplier that offer all of the bolt on sheet metal parts other then classic industries?

you need the entire front clip.. i'd go with a 72 set up so the side markers will match with what in the rear of your car already. you can keep your 73 doors.

Hood, fenders, front bumper and brackets, front valance, hood latch support panel and hood release, grille (and a few mounting brackets), and headlight bezels. Plus a bunch of the hardware because it's not all the same. Truly the easiest way is a parts car, piecing it together is expensive and bound to leave you without a few small parts. Having swapped my '74 to a '71 front clip, I would try to find a parts car.

Here you go, contact this guy and buy all you need, probably at a great price. Good luck.

I've also done this. I used a 71 front grille and 72 fenders so the marker lights would match. You will need to drill holes for the bumper brackets too.

Except he says he's keeping the fenders, hood and front bumper. :p

Oops your right, nonetheless, the balance of what he needs may come at a good price, remaining major stuff like the valance, and grill, plus all the other small stuff that will certainly run up cost if you try to buy separately, and of course all those things you forget if not done while having direct access to removal from a complete car.

It's a '73, it will have the mounts for the standard front bumper brackets. No drilling needed. Only early '74's (August to December) and '75+ cars had shock mount front bumpers.

As a matter of fact my car was built in October of 72, it would have been one of the first few in production of the 73 nose . So the bumper mount shouldn't be of an issue.

Is there a book online that has the parts diagram layout of the 70 thru 72 body style with oem part numbers? Such as a published micro phish that the dealers would of used to order parts from.

Ahh I see, the car I changed was a 75 with the big heavy bumpers/shocks.
