Looking for a recipe to build a big block that will eat an LS camaro for lunch Without the big block being unstreetable or unreliable. Going in a a body. Options open as I've not started the build. Btw, you never see posts or videos of mopar so vs LS cars....?
A plain Jane LS Camaro puts out 455 net HP bone stock, a ZL1 puts out 650 net. That's over 500 and 700 gross hp in a car that has AC, will idle all day in traffic, and will go 200k miles easily. If you can figure out how to do that with any Mopar engine I'm all ears. Maybe with modern machining practices 200k is possible. A Mopar can certainly make those HP numbers no problem, but I have a very hard time believing that they can do it for very long. EVERY hot Mopar engine I've ever dealt with personally or even read about is far from build it and forget about it. They're a labor of love that require constant attention. There always seems to be a valve train gremlin, broken block, or some other issue. But there definitely is a mystique to a Mopar.
