Steering u-joint

Anyone running a u-joint on their steering shaft? I swapped a 383 into a 73 Dart Sport and the Slip box (I know there is another name for it..lol) in the shaft is rubbing the exhaust manifold and was thinking about replacing it with a u-joint.

Yes, i run one on mine, for the same reason, and also because I could never get the retainer to stay put on the stock coupler. I replaced the bolt shown with a pin, but I noticed some play in it, so I will be putting in a roll pin instead.

Great Do tou happen to know the shaft diameter ? Is it the 3/4 one or is it one inch
