Before you click on it, i have to say, i usually try to be neutral on this subject as i'm as bad of a sinner as the next. But liked what he has to say!

Been going on for 25+ years now lol.
So who blinks first??
We all wanted better prices...this is what happens.
Wonder where the plastic water bottle he was drinking from was made.

It all goes back to an even more complicated issue. Class; When 1 out 2 americans in the country makes less than 35000 a year there isnt room to buy american, thats just the way it is. It also transcends through the markets, my best guess is that shirt he is wearing is made in china. So many stores only offer "made in china". You cant win, cheap wins everytime. People dont really give a **** where their products come from as long as its in their budget.

Well, i guess we should throw all of our AMD stuff in the garbage, because it's made in China.
The box says Made in the U.S.A., but they actually designed the product and stamping dies here and it is actually manufactured in China and shipped back to the U.S. for distribution.

I wish it was that simple... The "one or two extra dollars" you pay generally does not pay for better manufacturing. It pays for taxes and profit. And as xLurkxDogx says, the decision to buy is often based on budget.

I agree buy American made. I am by no means a China lover but all these guys want to bash china instead of the American based company that started "using" China to get cheaper parts and save/make more money. Shame on the company whose logo he covered up.We all know which one it was. MURICA!

I agree with mnmopar. If every ceo and owners didn't have to make 100 to 500 million a year prices would go down and be competitive. Plus as americans we are spoiled. I worked construction for 30 years its hard to find a good worker anymore they want big pay and do nothing. That's why Mexicans are taking over the field.

I have some friends who are very high up in the furniture industry. We were having a discussion about the Chinese furniture being made so cheaply. One of the gentleman who imports a lot of furniture told me they could build anything in China to the same standards as American made goods but the American importers show them what they want a product to look like and make a deal on price. There are some furniture companies in North Carolina who are reopening the factories and building quality furniture here. It seems that most people today are not as concerned with quality as people from past generations. My parents would purchase furniture and expect it to last a lifetime. People today are trained to purchase cheaper goods and plan on replacing it in a few years.
I agree, buy American made if you can. Unfortunately there are things that you just can't purchase made here any longer.
You may find a television set assembled in the U.S., but parts are made somewhere else. Does it make a difference. I think it does.

Most of todays things are made somewhere else
do to EPA regs.
You don't have to look much farther than cheaper labor,
retirement and medical to see why American companies
can't compete.
This is why our government is trying to unload our companies
from these burdens and make it mandatory for you to pay
for these services by creating another citizen funded system
similar to the way Social Security is done.
It will take about 10 yrs for things to change to its new form.
Looks to me to be why immigrants are being welcomed open armed
as they don't have a work history to know what once was and
the oldster are dying off and too busy trying to survive.

We don't even keep up on our corrupt elected officials and banking institutions and hold them accountable for the damage they cause to the country, and we want the entire country to stop buying from China?

Pshh

So I guess if you cant afford the best American made parts you shouldn't be allowed to enjoy the hobby or racing. I like to buy American to. I just cannot afford it sometimes. I myself am going to try to buy American as much as I can.

40 years ago, when I was a journeyman union machinist, I saw the writing on the wall. I've never bought anything but American cars (mopars), since. In the mid 70''s I saw a documentary, showing a parking lot at a GM mfg plant (Flint, MI?). And like 75% of the employees cars were (Japanese, primarily) imports. What does that say about American workers, who would rather buy an imported car, than buy one they themselves had a hand in making? I couldn't understand the long term logic behind an employee basically sending money and jobs overseas. But that's what happened, and we are dealing with the disloyalty of the boomer generation, and how the subsequent generations have inherited that sentiment. For the most part, Asian immigrants buy Asian imports, their loyalty is apparent. What excuse do we Americans have?

Trump might help the situation out in the next few years, but in reality, a lot of people want to pay less for everything they purchase, that will never go away.
