A video i liked well enough to post.

I have some friends who are very high up in the furniture industry. We were having a discussion about the Chinese furniture being made so cheaply. One of the gentleman who imports a lot of furniture told me they could build anything in China to the same standards as American made goods but the American importers show them what they want a product to look like and make a deal on price. There are some furniture companies in North Carolina who are reopening the factories and building quality furniture here. It seems that most people today are not as concerned with quality as people from past generations. My parents would purchase furniture and expect it to last a lifetime. People today are trained to purchase cheaper goods and plan on replacing it in a few years.
I agree, buy American made if you can. Unfortunately there are things that you just can't purchase made here any longer.
You may find a television set assembled in the U.S., but parts are made somewhere else. Does it make a difference. I think it does.
