40 years ago, when I was a journeyman union machinist, I saw the writing on the wall. I've never bought anything but American cars (mopars), since. In the mid 70''s I saw a documentary, showing a parking lot at a GM mfg plant (Flint, MI?). And like 75% of the employees cars were (Japanese, primarily) imports. What does that say about American workers, who would rather buy an imported car, than buy one they themselves had a hand in making? I couldn't understand the long term logic behind an employee basically sending money and jobs overseas. But that's what happened, and we are dealing with the disloyalty of the boomer generation, and how the subsequent generations have inherited that sentiment. For the most part, Asian immigrants buy Asian imports, their loyalty is apparent. What excuse do we Americans have?
