I just had my top sewed where it had torn and now I need to place a patch on top. Found some vinyl patch and glue at ACE hardware that is advertised for pool liners and other vinyl stuff. Is there another type of patch material I should find or just go with the ACE hardware product? P.S. I glued some extra foam to cover the deteriorated foam on the inside where the tear was, I hope I can still close the top with the extra bulk jammed in there. Thank you.

Mine is torn is a similar spot. I used something called Tear Aid. There are two types, an "A" and a "B". Don't remember which one I but the package said which one was for vinyl. I think I bought it at Bass Pro Shops. It's been on there a year, but I've only run the top up and down a few times (Fall, Spring and Fall again) since I've done it.

My daily driver had a very small cut and while at shop getting something else fixed had them glue a piece on the bottom side. The area on my driver not sure what caused the cut. But I also hardly ever put the top down, have had the car for almost 6 years and had the top down 6 times. Twice last winter to see Christmas lights in cavern under Louisville. Don't plan on putting it down anymore.......LOL It is over 10 years old and the top is in real good condition except that one small spot.

If that was my car would also try and glue piece from the bottom and then use some type sealer on the top. What ever probably needs to be fairly flexible.

If you leave the top down most the time in the summer getting it water tight is the most important.

Sooo duct tape is not the preferred method? I see so much of that here, you would think it was a factory option.
