we have a 72 340 that my boss wants me to sale. it has been rebuilt and has 0 ring ridge, turns over free. has the std 4 valve relief pistons @.030 over, cast crank, hyd lifters, cam looks good, has windage tray.
it does not have heads or front dress items, or even timing gears.
I am not sure of cast crank 340 value so any opinions are welcome, it was already dark so i did not get any pix but it aint much to look at anyways.

please post VIN on frame rail as I am looking for my original engine in that part of the country. H2R333306 or my friends H2R333308

It's cast crank, not complete, & doesn't have performance (upgraded) parts in it. If I was looking at it I'd be thinking $400-500 at most assuming the block was machined. You mentioned no ridge but if there's no block machining it's not rebuilt.

Around these parts (Portland Metro) a bare 340 block goes for $400-$600 depending on condition, bore, etc. I'd ask $800 for everything as is.

I had a similar motor listed for $500 and never got a bite. Pulled it apart. Found some broken rings on a fresh rebuild. Cast crank is std, rods appear new. Block is .060 over. Picked up a 70 block that will clean up at .030 over, so I now just need pistons for a cheap 340 rebuild!!!! I'd guess your motor is a $300-$500 motor in my area

Cast crank, I'd guess a $600 if it has the balancer, etc.

340 value?
they are getting pricy...a good block can be over $600 in an area where they are scarce.
