Does anyone have a complete list of all of the options available for the 1968 Barracuda. The ones I find online I don't think are complete or they are just to small to read and they don't enlarge.

These pages are from the original 68 Plymouth Data Book. Not sure if its a complete list at the time of publication or not. It won't include options added late in the model year such as the chrome grille inserts and trunk lid red reflective tape that were both part of the "Win You Over" spring special option package that came out in the spring.

Thanks that is what I was lookin for. What were the chrome grille inserts? Never noticed a difference with them or without them.

"Win You Over Special"/ "Success Celebration" spring special 68 Barracudas all included a combination of popular options together in a package. All were easilly identifiable as they all had red reflective tape on the trunk lid between the tail lights and all had chrome plating on the plastic vertical bar grilles. The chrome plated plastic grilles and the red reflective tape on the trunk were not available as separate options. They were only installed on the spring special cars. Of course, over time the chrome plating eventually wore off the vertical plastic bars of the grilles leaving most to be indistinguishable from the standard unplated plastic grilles.
Incidently, in the description for the coupe, these spring special coupes came with the painted upper body accent stripes (pin stripes). The accent stripes were a regular option just as the sport stripes were, yet I didn't see the accent stripes listed as an option on the pages of the 1969 Plymouth Data Book.

OK. I new the red reflective tape on the deck lid was a late in the season option. I just wasn't aware of the chrome grills.

That data book is in the hamtramck site.

Did you read and look at ALL the information there in 68's?

The chrome tipped fins on the grille inserts and deck lid stripe were only part of the spring special package. It's listed in the dealer information on the hamtramck site.

Many years ago I bought the "Barracuda--A Book of Information." It certainly is!! It covers all factory options available and includes all factory literature generated. Most of the photography is black and white and it has a few Exploded View diagrams as well. I see the book on eBay once in awhile for around $20. It's a fun collection of history.

I did look around on the site but I skipped over the dealer information tab. Didn't think it would of been in there.

hey cudachick...

i just bought the book you mentioned from amazon. they had one advertised for $16 that had coffee stains on the cover but when i tried to buy that one, amazon said it "was no longer available" - maybe someone on FABO bought it! i did go ahead and spring for a copy for $45 bucks. your comments have made me currious about this book. i have a library of about 50 original books, brochures and other literature on 67-69 barracudas. i'm looking forward to reading "Barracuda - A Book of Information."

thanks for the reference...

I hope you like it Jim! I actually got more practical use from Year One catalogs -- the Exploded Views are great for identification of parts and knowing what goes where lol -- but the Information book has stuff I've never seen.
