512 mystery mudder

Soooo, I gambled big and bought a motor. 400 with a 440 source 512 stroker kit. It has this cam, but sounds like just plane stealth heads and a weiand HiRam tunnel ram and dual predator carbs. It came from a mud truck and "only has 4 passes on it I swear!".... The heads were re surfaced but not milled, no mention of porting. Estimated but not sure if 10.5-11 compression ratio. Guy said it runs on 92 but better on 110 octane.

Sounds like a big cam for these heads, does the tunnel ram help? For the price i couldn't even build a similar short block...so i took that odds it's not just a big paper weight.

That being said, what kind of power do you think it will make? Would like to run the motor and eventually go to max wedge heads, single plane intake, single carb.

You're looking at 560-580 HP. The heads will flow to that lift but not enough to make a lot of horsepower.

check the phasing on the cam and if it's not between 102 and 104 put it there.

I have the Source 400/512 kit with same compression. Ported Indy EZ Max Wedge heads, tunnel ram and Lunati 60333 cam.
Made 734hp and 675 torque.

Thanks guys. At least I can have some fun before upgrading the heads. 560 will be slightly better than my 318 2brl. Now it's time to shop for transmissions and rearends.
