Do slant six swaps make you feel guilty?

I love having a V8 more than I loved having the slant. Plain and simple. Back when I had a 225 people would always give me crap for not having a V8 since the car looked fairly aggressive. I'd never had a rough idling V8 in anything before and it's really something I wanted/needed to experience. Plus... 340 4 speed just sounds nice and it's a respectable combo. 225 3 speed just got me laughed at.

That being said, I did feel kind of bad yanking out the 6 cylinder. My grandpa bought it new but the original slant died in 1980. Since the motor wasn't original I didn't mind converting to a small block. The attachment to the slant was just sentimental, and I know I could always convert back if I wanted to. Will I? No. 340's rule.

Generally speaking, I don't mind when people pull 225's in favor of something with more cylinders unless the car is rare or in exceptionally great condition. Most slant cars aren't that special though and would be 1000x more fun with a big thumpin' great V8.
