Had a 2.2 Daytona that I didn't tighten up the torque converter bolts enough. Sounded like a rod knock. Found out when I went to loosen the bolts to pull the engine.
Yeah, I took a big heavy guy, probably 300 lbs for a ride, floored it and it made a rod knock type sound. Not exactly like a rod knock, but before that nothing. It was somewhat of a knocking sound. Then when I went to investigate under the hood, I brought it up to maybe 2000RPM and it was like a rattle sound. Definitely the torque converter but I gotta investigate more. Thanks. Probably his weight was too much for the flex plate and either cracked it, or the bolts just happened to back off at a bad time.
