Hi all,
Hope this hasn't been asked to death already, but didn't see it in the threads.

Thinking about getting some new wheels and tires for my 62 Lancer GT. Wondering what the optimal rim and tire size I can fit without it rubbing anywhere.

Was looking at Cragar 08/61 SS for the rims. Have a few options but don't know squat about backspacing, etc.
14"×7" 4.125" backspace
Or
14"x6" 3.5" backspace
Or
15"x6" 3.375 backspace
Or
15"×7" 4.125 backspace
All are about the same price, roughly 165.00 each, with free shipping.

Need some help on what will fit the stock car best, fill up the wheelwells, and what size tires to get. Car has original 5on4 sbp 13" rims currently. Car has hijackers on the back, if that matters.

Of course, if anyone has these used and is willing to let them go for a good deal, please let me know! (I am near Tampa, FL and will drive to pickup.

I ran 15x7 on my 61 Lancer wagon

I am running 14 x 6 Fenton Slots with no offset and 195/70R 14 on the front of my wagon and they are very close on the front fenderwell. 215/70R on 7 inch Fentons on the rear with no problem. I might have to change to a smaller front tire if I can't get a little more clearance on the front.

Was that on both front and back, with no modifications? Also, so you recall what tire size you used?

Thanks!

Yes 15x7, tires were 225/60. The wheels were old school US Mags, SBP. I later changed to a 15x7 steel wheel all around with Moon caps
