Anyone know what brand / is it a POS? It is a CL find looks pretty sturdy to me.

With the wide spread front wheels it will give you a lot of stability. How do I know? I tried moving a crate gen 2 Hemi with the front wheels closer together on a stand and I couldn't keep it from tipping over. I had to buy a stand similar to what you have.

Yeah, that looks like a decent one. Just don't get a 3-wheeler -- it's no fun tipping a block over on your foot.

i see a VW and a radio flyer

oh, and i dont thing ive seen those side braces on an engine stand before, that must help sturdy it a bit

My biggest problem with that engine stand is taking the engine off to install in the car. A wide 3 legged stand for me

It does look a little thin on the upright.. I am gonna pass on it.. I was kinda wondering about the wide footprint and was hoping I could find a brand or someone with some knowledge so I could see if there was a heavier unit available.

It may be a little smaller on the upright, but if those braces are any good it probably has a lot of strength. The steel in that upright looks as large as what was used on cars for frames.

I have one that looks identical. IIRC mine has a name on it. I have a slant sitting on mine with no problem moving it around on a concrete floor.

EDIT: I just took a look at mine and what I saw for a name was a Cummins name decal a PO put on it.

I like it. looks like you could straddle one of the sides with a hoist. I used a cheepo HF, but added a removable anti-tip bar. No casters on the add on, Just slid blocks under it
