Looks like you found a winner! How long before you try to start that commando up?

I plan on getting out and working on mine Thursday, Friday and maybe Saturday. I need to finish the floor pan, not a big fan of welding, but learning. Need to finish that and get the interior ready to paint the next warm day when I can be home.

pictures of engine with air . Your valve is to control the hot water to the heater. As you see in my picture I added a manual valve but I will be removing it because I found a correct valve that does not leak. Your Barracuda looks very good for being in storage that long.

I changed the oil and filter and soaked the cylinders put a buttery in and it cranked well no plugs in it I want to do compression test on each cylinder first.

North Carolina weather is strange. 30 tonight, 65 tomorrow, same tomorrow night and Wednesday. I'm not working Thursday thru Sunday and the high is going to be 42.

No snow or ice though. That should be here in a couple of weeks

That little gem is cleanin up nicely!! Keep up the good work, that's a diamond alright!!

Here's another shot of the heater valve for an AC car. Just in case you wanted to see another, lol.

I know you're itching to get it running!!!

You are so far ahead of the game with your 66. I know you have a lot to do to make it perfect, but most of us have to do a lot of repairs that look like you will be able to avoid. That is awesome.
I found another picture of mine before I picked it up.

Motor likes great!!! but WOW!!! The air cleaner, rear window chrome and bumper cleaned up extremely well!!! May ask what did you use to bring back its ole' luster?!!

BTW...your hub caps center cap logo is 'one year only' for 1966.

The "273 Commando" on the air cleaner is a thin metal piece that is glued on.
Reproduction decals are available as replacements .
