What are the different styles, ect... and what works with what, and what doesn't. Years, fiberglass vs metal, ect. This is in reference to 70-72 Dart Demons, Thanks.

My current project is a 71. All original except for the passenger fender (previous accident) and I guess the extension. The driver side is fiberglass and the chrome trim extends deeper on the underside. The passenger side is pot metal and the chrome trim is thinner on the bottom. Looks fine when bolted up, but definitely different pieces.

1970 Dart Fiberglass extension with deep eyebrow chrome moldings
1971 Dart Potmetal extension with casted in studs and deep chrome eyebrow moldings
1972 Dart Potmetal with removable studs and SHORT chrome eyebrow moldings

Thanks. My car is an early 71 so I guess it got left over 70's on the driver side. All factory hardware and original color (or maybe it got hit on that side back in the day). The passenger side definitely got replaced with '72 I guess.

the front bumpers were very weak as there are only 4 bolts to the mounts and under minimal impact, the fiberglass cracked and broke. to fix that problem, Chrysler went to potmetal, just like the rear. Now came another problem, in the rust belt areas when the fender got hit and it was time to put the extension on a new fender, all the studs snapped off as they were rusty in the top of the fender. Now for 1972, they make the studs replaceable . TODAY, it is hard to find a 1971 extension with all the studs so people put the fiberglass (1970) on so the molding would fiT. I have a pair of 1972's and individual 70's if needed.
