Wating for the driver to show up to finish engine...LOL

Christin drove my Demon at the PSCA race....went 3 rounds...lost to the winner....he had a .000 light against her...she was pretty good with a .038.....Demon spun tires....you had to watch the burnout box..with the cool weather alot water was getting move forward toward the starting line and she did a burn out like she was buying the slicks...weak.....went from a 1.49 60 ft to 1.59 60 ft....ran 11.40 on a 11.10 dial.....car was really consistence with 750 vacuum secondary on e85 ...
Dam race went on forever...crashes...oil downs....
 
Oh Man... .000 is a hard one to beat,,, :) Sounds like yall had a good outing for the most part..
Any issues with the car? Or did it behave?
Hope the freshened up bullet went together smoothly?
 
No issues with Demon...just had it in bracket racing mode....the vacuum secondary...car launches smoother..
 
Heads and rocker gear on.....went to put intake on and as I guessed it does not like up any more...sitting too high.....

going to take it to machine shop to have it shaved .015...as it is pretty close...
 
Old age is wonderful...I had an appointed that took me right by the machine shop to drop off the intake...and I drove right by it....LOL...Got a second chance tomorrow...Dentist appointment that will take me near by...I think I will put the intake in the front seat of the pickup with its seat belt on of course...

We got the engine back in.....got intake back from machine shop...it still a tight fit but all the bolts lined up..
tonya and I got everything hooked up today....just need to clean carb and rejet it from Bakersfield...probably start it up Tomorrow or Tuesday.

then on to the Fuster...
 
Everything hooked up...just need some water...and need to check tranny fluid....Fire it tomorrow afternoon...

Engine bay needs a bath...but no racing for probably 2 months....weather too nice to race...lol

well...minor set back...Engine fired yesterday...breaking new lifters to old camshaft...clicked it off after 5 minutes...Daughter wanted to be there so I just wanted to set timing...

Anyway..Today...Engine fires and set idle fast...moving rpm up and down...oil pressure great...after a few minutes...water on the floor...dripping near rear on both side...****....LOL

was not too concern...look at temp gauge...climbing fast...click off ignition....middle freeze plug on both side pissing water...brand new brass...wont ever use that **** for sealant again..LOl.....was wondering why there was so much water on the floor yesterday...

Was able to knock freeze plug out and install another plug with only loosening up passenger side header.....love that 2 post lift...

Fire up tomorrow again..lol
 
Always something..... Glad it was something simple for the most part...
I like the #2 pipe dope (Black)..The Pipe Fitters Dope.. Ugly, but has not let me down yet.
 
Ok...fired it up Wednesday or was it Tuesday...dont remember...LOL...all is well...had to tighten a few header bolts....accelerator pump on primary side is way off...looks like the pump diaphragm is getting old and hard...pretty sure I got a spare...Got a few other small thing to do..need to check front end alignment since the torsion bars are gone..
got 350 lbs springs on the front and it still feels too stiff...but we will start the season with those....Nice thing...they are easy to change out..
 
On the trailer....sounds different.....the clocks don't lie like the dyno...will see tomorrow...
 
sounds like there is a exhaust leak at the collector....small stuff....lol

1st pass on rebuilt engine...10.68 @ 123.56
2nd pass ..........................10.67
3rd................................. 10.68
4th 10.69....head wind ....

need to check the timing again....
 
She went 4 rounds today...running 10.69 to 10,72....warmer day....lost in the quarters....

60 fts are a few hundred slower for that et from last year...but nothing broke..

We now have 4 new shocks on it..all double adjustable...need to do some reading...LOL
 
360 blew a head gasket last weekend in bakersfield, decided after 10 years it might be best to freshen the engine....started tearing it down this afternoon...took some pictures...

Ya my Milodon Windage tray cracked as well to brittle of metal. I had mine crack as well.
