Just doing a old school carb intake swap. Changing from a LD340 and a 750 dp to this set up just for the sound LOL. Look at the part numbers and tell what you think.

I think it would be an easy 300 bucks. :D
Really, you are changing away from proven parts but if it sounds fun do it.

300$, send it my way. I wouuld think more like 500. Best of luck.

Why not keep the LD340, open it up to the T/Q size and use it with the T/Q ? That is what I am running on mine and LOVE it!

Those LD340's have been high dollar for a long minute now, i missed that short bus.

Ya the LD340 is costly. Mine is not for sale. only reason to swap this combo is the sound of the TQ. Not a lot of people have heard that sound.

I did the exact same swap on a mild 360. There was a tenth difference in favor of the LD340/750dp. That was it.

Ya this one is not about ET I have a 10 second car and a 11 second car. Doing it just for the sound and old school cool factor, fun factor. This Carb is a 9801 which if you do some research they where a after market carb from Direct connection in 1984. They had all the mods done to them. And these carbs worked very well. Tire smokers with the right combo LOL { My Duster is a 340 4 speed }

Then you may not even give up a .10, because I didn't have that TQ, mine was probably pulled from a junk yard off of whatever car had the cleanest.. lol. My point was that the cast/TQ really is hard to beat. Most folks claim the LD340/750dp one of the best, but I only saw a .10. I actually saw an all steel Demon run in the 10's with a cast intake/TQ.

Hell yes, a good stocker with 8.5:1 compression and a 1.88 intake valve with a good tune can hit the 10's and Super Stocker will go faster.

Where is perfacar or what he goes by on here. He's a stocker guy and inlay my bottom dollar he can make a TQ work and run like a striped assed ape.

Stock eliminator guys are where you want to hang around. You can learn from them if you are willing to listen.

And I forgot to mention they do that with a .430 lift car or whatever the stock lift was. Those guys are bad assed.

Locomotion is a stocker guy too but don't know if his car is a TQ car or not.

Small Primary TQ, I wouldn't use it on anything bigger than a 360 and a lot depends on how hopped up it is.

I have two of those carbs and I am going to try and use them on a tunnel ram one day. JUST BECAUSE. Of course.

I too love that sound and miss it.

I put a small one on a teener with an automatic, a full manual VB,a 2800TC, and 3.55s. And the reason was?, you guessed it, to hear the moan from ZERO to 65 mph! Just upshift it into 2nd as soon as she will take it. A stock teener makes peak torque under 3000 rpm. So that was my target; to let her pull from 3000 to about 4400 with slip. Do you know how long it takes for a stock 73 teener long-block to pull a 3650 pound 68 Barracuda,to 65mph? NOT long enough, so stop the car and do it again. And again, and ag......
But it doesn't moan the same with any other air filter house, than the factory one.

There is a guy on speedtalk that runs a TR with TQ's. I think he's on speed talk.

Oh no chit. I seen a video with a pair on a Poncho, I think it was. Same guy?
