Car has no windshield, supposedly has front bumper, claims it was a 318 car and still has the auto/floor setup, which is of no interest to me. Positives are all the body work is done, and if the frame is solid, it has good bones for a build. From what I can tell however, it's going to need pretty much all trim, and the interior looks rough.

Curious what the members here think a reasonable offer for this roller would be.

This is the seller's explanation as to what's been done:

"The reason for my asking price is cause it has lots of new medal.
Floors are new
Quarters are new
Frame is solid
Interior is there
Wireharness is there.
Automatic on the floor set up
Has an 8 3/4 rearend.
Value wise well worth my asking price.
The medal work put into her was $3800
The rearend is worth around $1200
Let me know your thoughts
Ty for your interest "

That rear end pic is of a truck. You can buy /6 nice drivers under 5k so I would think maybe 2K max for this. If it were a 70-71 maybe a bit more.

Around my neck of the woods that's a $2000 car. That appears to be an 7 1/4 rear end

I would insult the guy. Put it all back together and you get the headaches to go along with the frustration of chasing parts on top of the investment. Nothing says awesome body work like a car with new Metal in Primer. Sorry but it is a run forest run deal but if I were to put a number on it no more than 500.00 and hope he laughs at me.

Edit lol- If the car does have the correct A Body 8 3/4 I would double my price of 500.00.

Good luck,
JW

I try to be respectful, one's man trash is another man's treasure. I'd never pay his asking price, I could go down to NY and get a complete 1970 Swinger 340 minus motor for a grand more than this guy is asking. Both need paint, but the 340 has more pedigree and is more complete.

Even with an 8.75, I'd wonder where he came up with a value of $1200!!

Very wise Danielson lol.... Miagi say squish car like Grape.... Imagine under that primer all the metal work is pure hack city. You might as well have bought bent Beer Cans....

Yeah I thought something looked off there. The fact that he tried to slip in the under chassis pic of a totally different vehicle makes me think he's got something to hide under the Dart. And if a car is in primer with no pics of the body repairs in process, any claim of new metal or being ready to paint is worth NOTHING. Assume it's rotted and full of bondo, cause it probably is.

Jeezei didn't notice the location. Like they said above the bodywork under that may be crap or it may be great. But without pics of the car down to bare metal and then body worked without 50 lbs of bondo. Honestly I wouldn't pay more than 2k.

$2500-$3000 MAX. - I always try to consider what I'm NOT getting - what's it going to cost to make it a running usable car..

Rear end under leaf springs? This looks like a Truck. Someone dont know what a 8 3/4 looks like.

Well, to be honest I haven't been under a dart since high school, so been a few years. I did think the pic was weird tho, as it looked like bed crossmembers. As far as the 8-3/4, never seen one.

My current project is a 71 purchased off a Long Island FABO member. Complete car with decent interior, all trim, glass, bumpers, lights, ect. Drivetrain is toast. Only body work was a quarter patch and a pair of fenders. I paid $900 for a car that was as solid as his word and handshake.
