I love Guys like the most of the Abody guys here. Selfmade Guys who know each screw in their car.
Maybe i´m oldschool, but i love it to build my car!
Never in my life would i spend over 10K for a Car! And the Guys came in the shop, put about 80k on the table and say: Do it.... Idiots!:realcrazy:

You just described a former neighbor in AZ....to the letter. Guy was a Pontyrat freak. Knew all the GTO/LeMans/Trans Am/Firebird numbers. Had a brother that backed him financially. He had a numbers matching Trans Am...and a numbers matching Judge. Big inch, high compression race gas "street car"....that couldn't get out of its own way. Could recite the production stats like most recite their phone number. Couldn't change his own oil. He stopped talking to me few years back. He had a 1 of 6 69 GTO, that was 95% restored....and a 1 of 150 64 GTO, that was done at his friends place. His friend was the guy that did 90% of the mechanical restoration on his cars. The 69 was insured for 15k, the 64 insured for 10k, which is what his brother spent buying them when they were baskets cases. His buddy was doing some grinding. Had a trash can near buy that was full of dirty rags and packing material. Guys wife wanted to get some dinner, they took off to a local Mexican joint. Returned to his shop engulfed...with fire fighters in semi-retreat mode because of all the chemicals. Both cars...well...were not recognizable. Dave was telLing me that his buddies home owners insurance was going to cover it...few weeks go by, texts me...not covered...by the guys home owners insurance...and thanks to none payment to the carrier insurance company...,I laughed so hard damn near passed myself...texted him, something to the effect of, you are an idiot...never heard back from him...
