Hey Fabo good people,
Just refurbishing my TQ.
Always wanted to do such. It is a *9801S.
Summary:
Sat outside under a tarp (on the motor) and got sem-rained on for 4 years.
Got back into it.
Set up electroplating process and already have a big compressor / hand held blaster for coarse SODA.

looking good so far. BTW, don't loose any of the long skinny bolts, they are impossible to get as far as I know.

Thanks for checking it out :)
Could anyone recommend a good rebuild kit / source to buy? Also, I need some good well caps or at least 1 because I lost it in the gravel when I was blasting the bowl. They both totally fell off. Sure they were not glued on at all anymore.

Anyone recommend a good source for a complete kit? I looked on ebay and walker industries but ebay kits dont have floats or well plugs and walker has several things out of stock including well plugs.

So, I see a discrepancy in the secondary fuel feed tubes and air bleed tubes.
Is this normal? Looking the way the camera sees, the left fuel output tube has fewer holes and the air bleed brass tube has zero holes, I have looked over it completely.

Can anyone shed light on this? It is a 9801, possibly they designed it intentionally?

Well, I can check mine out for you.
The downward tubes, (I'm forgetting the proper names now, sheezzz!) having only one hole and the other has none. I see this. Did you look really close, as in the other side Of the tube? Just asking!

The angled tubes... are they equal in length? Holes on the other side.

Again, just asking. Simple things are easy to miss. I hear that from my wife all the time. I tend to overthink a simple
Issue.
Rob! Did ya check the fuse?!?!
And yes.... it was the fuse.... ugh!

rumble, I did look alot and it is very clean, there are no holes in the drivers side emulsification tube and different location but actually same number of holes in the fuel output tube, just different locations. I did see the output tube has a hole in the very end on the drivers side. You can see this end hole or hole arrangement discrepancy in the pics above. :)

Awesome work. So you blasted the aluminum with soda?

Hey, thanks :) yea so I used coarse blasting soda and a harbor freight hand blasting unit shown above. My compressor is a beast but I have seen folks rig up a soda blaster on youtube and use a box of arm&hammer on a motorcycle carb with a small compressor. I tried the blaster rig shown on youtube but a 20 dollar unit on harbor freight is way better.

I have one of these too and suggest it for an all in one carburetor and soda or small sand blasting (if you dont have such). It is adjustable on the output nozzle which helps.

Yep they have different holes this is from a 2146 top that was on mine 6138s, I do notice that the air bleed copper holes on the primary circuit are different from some models

Hey thanks Golden.. That is great info!
I thought mine was irregular but glad to hear the large tubes can be a bit different from side to side. Yours looks like mine.
Regarding the air bleed tubes, guess I will get a super small bit and put a thru hole at the same height as the other one and approx same size.
