Mopars in the Park 2017 Farmington MN

*if you feel that a car in your class does not belong there, please bring your concerns to the Registration Table and we will work to resolve the issue.

I remember something about them trying to crackdown on the classes last year, but I ignored it. I just dont recall them having this point sheet the last few years. I just think its ridiculous how they try to break up the classes so much. It would probably be easier if it was broken up into judged and not judged.

Anyways, I registered today. I'm #203 in the Plymouth class.

I cant wait until Doug, brings his van and parks it by us. LOL
That's gonna be the straw... That breaks their back. I figure I will move it around a few times and keep 'em confused!

I have suggested in the past that they should have Class 100: A-Body Plymouth/Dodge Stock Class 200: A-Body Plymouth/Dodge Modified Then most would be happy and the A-Bodies would all be parked in the same area

They can keep my votes, if I get any. LOL. I am coming for the fun of it. My 440 is "stock appearing" in that Demon engine compartment. ;)

Like I said before there will be potentially three cars coming with us. What are the odds all three can be parked together? 72 Demon, 74 Duster, and a 67 Dart.

The odds are pretty good. A bodies are the first couple of rows, Dodge and Plymouth are typically broken up by brand, but you will see them parked next to each other or back to back.

Here is my question - if all of the stock/stock appearing classes are 100-1300, why are un-restored originals class 2300?
The most stock class of all is not set up to show next to the stock/stock appearing cars.
Hmmmmmm.

Exactly, IMO they have over complicated it and it just needs to be dumb down some.

I like your idea Pete, I think it makes a lot of sense. But no matter what they do, someone will not be happy.
Just the way it is, but it is still a great show to attend.

Because when they reclassified everything they forgot certain types of classes and put them in later so some things are out of order. They forgot C bodies entirely last year and put us C body guys out with the trucks. They had the same class number when I registered and have since changed the number to be more inline with the other class numbers. But yeah, they thought too hard about a simple thing. Stock and modified cars of the same body style makes the most sense to me.

I'm Supposed to be in custom class, but parking in the 200 group cuz that's where the ForABodiesonly tent is.

I just got my flier in the mail for MITP!!! This year it included an insert on how to properly class your vehicle. Now, I understand why they have this, but I dont agree with it. According to the insert my car belongs in the Custom Class. :realcrazy:

Those of you that plan on going, Im curious... technically where does your car belong, and where are you going to park it:poke:????

This whole thing with the stock/non stock is a joke, There were only a handful of stock car's in the 100-200 class the last 3 years. I won 100 class 3 years ago, and my car hasn't changed very much, so if they are going to tell me now that it shouldn't be in that class, it makes them look kinda dumb. They try'd telling us they had over 100 pre registered in 100 class last year, there was no way that was correct. I say everyone should just park in 100/200 and if they want to make us all move we will deal with it then!

this is always been a subject at any carshow ive been too if you don't want your car judged then cross out the number on your dash card or write non judged. they should have a area for non judged cars to park so every one can just hang out and BS,
another idea is park your car in the correct class, and have a tent or canopy set up in the open area down from the cars and sit there and chat, unless everyone wants to sit and stare at their car.lol
my daughter wants her car judged so I understand her when she is parked next to a dodge dart or a demon that is not supposed to be in her class, she wants to compete against cars like hers , it makes things hard to determine what is stock anymore...
I had a 68 charger with a 440 in it and the only mod was it had headers on it, I was always put in modified classes, so I was judged against cars that were tubbed had blowers or all chromed out, so I took the headers off and went to stock classes ..
everyones opinion of stock is different, so we cant please everyone all the time,
so I can suggest put your car in correct class and grab your chair and put up a tent or meeting area away from the main cars ,like the end of the show car row and everyone can meet there and no one gets in trouble, ..

Like I mentioned earlier, if that was the case there would only be a dozen cars in both classes of A bodies in stock condition, if the judges can't tell what's stock and modified, maybe they shouldn't be judging. I'm not a trophy hunter, and could care less what people think of my modifications I've done, this hobby is about being an individual and just enjoying everyone's cars for what they are. Just my 2 cents

Tasha got some free photos from shutterfly. Looks like I've got some new garage art.

I thought I'd bring the pickup with the 58 boat and put it in the Special Interest class. So I'll be parked with Daytona/Superbird/TA/ARR and Max Wedge Thats wack

That's gonna be cool to see the truck in with those cars! It is kinda messed up though.

Yes, great idea. I was in the stock class last year but shouldn't have. The guy out on the street passing out paperwork said I should. Like some of you have said, if you're in Modified, you get put with tubbed pro streeters with 500 cube engines under the hood. LOL

"Stock appearing" is a better class name.

I have no hard feelings regardless how the show is run. It is my favorite Mopar show!

I'll be there with Scampy. #205. As long as I can keep my butt out of the hospital this year. 15 days in the hospital and 6 weeks of aftercare with Endocarditis. Missed Mopars in the Park, Back to the 50's and Street Machine Nats last year. But, I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack.

Best show for me by far. Not too many good, large shows close to the highly populated southeast corner of South Dakota!
Also, everybody needs to remember this is not a "judged" show. It is participant votes, which is completely different than judges walking around and scoring cars on a list of set criteria. If that's your thing, that's 100% fine, but don't expect that here because that is not the format at this show. I don't agree with everything, but who does or would anyways?
Come, have fun, drool over a bunch of Mopars, drink some adult beverages, buy some parts, or sell some parts, enjoy the weather (hopefully), enjoy no bow ties and blue ovals, etc., etc., etc.

Getting my new car closer to being able to drive out this year instead of trailering my 69! Look's like the 69 may be staying home this time! Hope they aren't making me go in a survivor class, this ones got 23,000 miles on it.

Nice looking 68!
And what's wrong with the survivor class?
Just kidding.
Be nice to have some A-body company over in the east 40.
