Quick rear end help...

Found a guy who has a few 8 3/4's for sale. question is about the lengths. He says they measure 52" backing plate to backing plate and on the perches he got 43.5". I thought the perches where supposed to be 43 but where they every "off" just a little bit or could these have been used on something else to get that measurement?

And I probably will, was just curious as it's a 3 hour drive one way. The 52" had me thinking he was just rounding off as the only axle in that range is an a body

Ask him if it was cut for a custom setup...A body is the narrowest at 52.625". If it has a center in it, he needs to use a straight edge on the flanges to get accurate measure.
