I bet the reason he is sleeving them is that the fittings for the brake lines on these are SAE and the dakota ones are prob metric. This makes it more of a bolt in. I bought 2 aftermarket 1&1/32" bore MCs both were machined in the back for manual brake rod retainers. There may be some that are not, but this was my experience.
BTW which dakota MCs came with 15/16" bore? I looked up 1987 to 1994 all those had a 3/4" bore, a sloped reservoir for an angled firewall, and metric fittings.
