So I used a cutoff wheel and removed the dash with the windshield in the car from underneath. Just zipped off the nut clips and it came right out. Any problem with reinstalling it with the screws on the bottom?

Just flip the new clips and install them on the dash and bolt in from below but keep in mind the screws will need to be cut shorter for clearance to the windshield and gasket

My back is starting to hurt just thinking about grinding all the screws out !
How were you able to get the die grinder up to them ?

Im talking about laying on your back with feet over seat with crap falling in your eyes while you tear your hands up trying to get a tool around all the wiring , hvac ang steering gear.....
Urghh......I will just pull the windshield thank you...lol

Friend did this, not that hard. Cut the clips in half
HA! It's always easier when somebody else does it. Of course, drinking all the beer while he's up under the dash can be kind of a workout too.

When I think of how much trouble this is going to be, and how long it will take, I think I'd pull the windshield. If you totally cut and slice the gasket as you go, there is virtually no chance of cracking the windshield. You will have to buy a new gasket, but I bet it will be easier and take less time in the long run.

Just did exactly that last week.
Windshield came out perfect.
Easy peezy and no backache.

I take dashes out like this quite often, and zip them back in with sheet metal screws! Pull the cluster, pull the radio and glovebox liner and use a die grinder with a cutoff wheel to cut off the end of the screw! Then just wiggle a flat bar between the dash frame and the flange and pop the frame off of the last thread and it's out! Takes about 1/2 hour to get em out, and about 10 minutes to reinstall them!!
