I'm looking to combine my order on rockauto to save on shipping but they don't carry a turn signal switch for a 71 Duster. They do once you hit 73 but that switch is definitely wired differently.

I recently did the turn signal switch in my 75 D100 with a switch I bought on rockauto and I'm comparing the pictures of that to the pictures of a NOS one on ebay and they pretty much look identical to me. Does anyone have any clue if they interchange? It's $45 cheaper than buying a standard 71 Duster switch on another site as well. What do you guys think?

I believe it should. Did a 71 Dart, used a 74 Duster switch BUT I did have to switch plug end to the 71.Wires were the same.Your column may or may not have a key light, the 75 will have a orange wire for a light.

I had a switch from a truck unknown year, 80 Cordoba and a 70 Duster. All looked the same to me except for the plug.

i have one for a pick up and the wires are much shorter than a regular a body.just my 2 cents worth.

Thanks guys, sounds like it'll most likely work. You're right, the wires do look shorter but I don't mind splicing them longer to save $35.

Darter6, the orange wire you're referring to, doesn't that go to the ignition switch connector?

I'm old, I may be wrong.I was sure it was for the light for the key and PRND21. Or maybe just the PRND21.

Just an FYI, the 75 D100 turn signal switch worked perfectly on the 71 Duster. Wires were the same length and all.

Wound up getting it for $22.50 + free shipping vs. $70 for one marked for a Duster.

Will save some coin if anyone has to do one on their A body.

Try not to use it too often. The contacts between those two pieces like to melt into the body of the cheap ones, and then the brake lites stop working.Make sure the brake lites never stick on overnight. Put it in neutral if you are stopped at the traintracks, lol.Don't use the 4 ways for any length of time. Try not to use the horn too often.
I haven't had any trouble with the all-white ones.

^^^^^ Yep, even though it was on a Ford, A friend went thru 4 of the cheapies on a Mustang Shelby. If you held your foot on the brake and had the turn signal on the steering column started to smoke !
