Huge Northeast Blizzard of '17

-
Started around 7:30, by the time I got to work only about 1/2", but they were saying we could get 2-3" an hour tonight when the "blizzard" arrives.

"SNOW WILL BECOME HEAVY THIS AFTERNOON WITH SNOWFALL RATES OF ONE TO THREE INCHES PER HOUR POSSIBLE AND BLIZZARD CONDITIONS ALONG THE COAST. THE SNOW MAY MIX WITH SLEET AT TIMES LATE TODAY AND EARLY THIS EVENING. "

Here in NB we re to get this very storm reach us sometime after supper, the New England system is joining with another system so we could get snow, freezing rain and even rain so time will tell. Could be a big slushy mess.

So far about seven inches here.

Was up feeding Nick at 3:00 this morning and was just starting to come down.

Still coming down pretty hard, almost sideways.

I never take the storm total predictions for what they are projected. We'll see how much we get when it's done and then measure that against what the backcasters said.

I just checked the radar loop (which is the only thing I trust) and it looks like the first band of heavier snow is about here... we only have 4-5" at this point.. waiting for the other shoe to drop..
- this could track more south and east and not hurt my feelings one little bit...

Yeah, about 2 foot here....The 72 dart swinger is in there somewhere...still snowing hard too

It's nasty here also, (if you don't have sunglasses on)
You guys be safe out there.

Man, it is still snowing here with some wrap around feeder bands....25 inches and counting.....Some local places on the local news here have 30 inches already and still snowing....Amazing, from one snowstorm...Damascus PA 30 inches

We got lucky here, the storm split and went north, just looked in the back yard and the grass is peeking thru the snow, and nothing stuck to the sidewalk.

Somewhere between 25 and 28" (still snowing, just real light/fine powder now)

The little 273 powered Dumptruck had a great time pushing snow

Cool little truck!
We were spared most of the snow thankfully. Slight dusting not even an inch. Maybe Mother Nature ain't such a nasty beech after all

Thank God we were spared too here in Fl.! They said it was going to get down to 59 today! Dadadadamn!

Thanks. She's part Dodge D50, part Formula S Cuda, part Duster, part Ramcharger and part Dodge M886 Ambulance.

Rides like a tank on an Autocross course (lol) but it's nimble, it's AWD, and it gets decent mileage (for a heavy v8 creature).

Just heard on Facebook that the Broome County airport just reset the record for most snowfall in a 24 hour period. A record that has stood since 1961.

East of Binghamton is getting hammered with reported totals so far in the 30" range. We have about half that.

Most of the counties are closed down here, with sheriffs suspending travel. The road crews have been rolling since about six this morning and needed the break to hit it again tomorrow morning.

Just as well. The County was going past the house about three hours and was shoveling **** against the tide.

Hope you guys are all safe. Those are some amazing numbers for certain. We did get lucky here.

Yeah I tease you guys about the "horrible" conditions down in Fl. But It is my sincere hope that everyone makes it through this deli ma safe and sound!
