Check out this transmission for sale.

1969 Dodge Charger A 833 4 Speed Transmission OEM Rare GTX MOPAR Hemi - $900 (West Hills)

He says it's out of a Charger, but it sure does look like an A-Body transmission. Also, isn't that shifter out of later Mopars? It doesn't look terrible, but you can tell it's rusty, especially the input shaft and tail shaft. If I'm not mistaken, that date stamp says it's a '72.

If I had the cash, I'd probably offer him 300 bucks max because the whole thing needs rebuilding, including the shifter (which needs a whole restoration).

Vin number on the side says 1972....Also, the shifter mount boss is behind the transmission mount.....Which I thought was A body......B-body shifter mounts are in front of the tranny mount....correct?

I'm thinking e body also, but it's been a really long time since I've had one in my hands.

I believe e-bodies were all dual mount cases for b/e. E-body shifters mount on the rear similar to this one but I don't see any undrilled bosses for the b-body mount.

Looks like an A, with an A shifter adapter to me. Seal peal(?) on the input, open out the tail............................

What if the insides look like that? what if it came out of from the bottom of a well?
I mean 4 obvious lies, why not one more?

Or maybe he just submitted the wrong pics.
Or maybe he took the shifter off cuz it never was a pistol grip.
That is just so flagrantly wrong

Oh..I didn't want it. Don't need it. I already have a 4 speed, but I had come across the ad and it was full of inaccuracies.

must be a chevy guy ! note the gm stuff next to it . its just a small output a body 4psd with hurst comp plus linkage , nice linkage it all there . hemi my *** , there is people that know and those who blow smoke , in order to blow smoke you must first inhale it , lol .

The only thing rare is the oxygen around this guy's brain, short shaft A-F all the way. Me thinks by the air hose on the ground, the crust on the tailshaft, & the condom on the
input shaft,.....He just drug it out of a swamp, dried it & treated it to a little bead-blastin'.................................

I've seen some A833 from Chevy trucks in the salvage yard like that, and iirc they had coarser than a 23 spline.
maybe it's one of those?

But it looks a lot like an a body transmission, with the reverse rod to run under the cross member and all.

ya gm used the od setup , put there gm input and outputs splines in them , but the case and internals are chrysler corp .
