Hi,

my Name is Eckhard and I am from south Germany.
I enjoy driving us-cars since nearly 20 years till now.
I drove a 1988 LTD coutry squire crown victoria, a 1993 pontiac firebird, 2 cadillac seville sts (1995 an 1999) and now, as daily ride a 2010 dodge ram 1500.
This week I bought an nice car for me and my wife - for diving arround on the weekend.

It's a 1973 Plymouth duster, lemon twist, with some mods:

360 engine, 0.030 bored over
speed pro pistons
292 comp cam, roler rocerks
polished and ported heads
edelbrock air gap Performer
msd didgital 6A igniton....
BG 750cfm carb
big headders, 2,5" dual exhaust.....

The car is in good shape and I will restaurate it in the next years.

Hope to meet some nice petrol heads in this forum and I hope my english isn't that bad, so everyone can understand, what I am typing.

Best regards from Germany ;-)

Welcome to the Madness !!!

Great looking duster. I loved living in Germany in my time in the service 2002-07. Welcome to a great site. Dustin

Enjoy!....and Welcome to the site!...that be a real 'head turner' over there especially in yellow!!

Welcome aboard, and yes, that is a nice looking Duster. Here is a picture of my old 72 dart. I sold it to a gentleman in Germany a few years ago. You may run into it at car shows.

Hi folks,

nice people arround here!
And I've seen many nice cars here... like the on from d55dave.

Just placed an order about $2300 at summitracing.... autometer dash, rubber parts, etc....
The duster arrives in a few weeks and I am realy looking foreward to drive and restaurate it :)

The quality of the paint work looks outstanding in the photos, and what a nice color! It really looks good on your Duster. Nice instrument panel as well.

Yes, the guy who painted it is a realy master of his craft.
The complete paint was remocved and he restored the shape of the rear end of the trunk.
Lucky me, the Duster "lived" in California, before it was imported to germany. So absolutly no rust.
We've chosen a candy apple red from House of Kolor- the Official Site for House of Kolor Custom Finishes - House Of Kolor.
He used a blue basecoat, instead of the black ... awesome effect in the sun, where the roundings nearly appear to look black :)
The instruments are from Autometer.... American muscle series.

The instrument carrier and the glove box door, etc. habe been coated using water transfer technique, fllowed by a clear paint.
Resulted in a good color match with the steering wheel.

Regards Eckhard...

PS. hope there aren't too much mistakes in the text I wrote ;-)

Did you change cam? I noticed you put new timing set and dial indicator to degree existing cam? Or new cam? Just curious.

No, I bought the car with the info
.... Comp cam 292h installed.
But the car wasn't performing the way I expected.
So I went from top to bottom.
As I removed the vale covers, I found a pair of sollid rocker, instead of the adustable roller rocker, that schould have been installed.
So I ordered a set of Comp Cam ultra pro magnum roller rockers, and a adjustable timing set.
Unfortunately the grinded number of the cam is on the back side, near the distributor.
So to be sure it wasa 292H, I pulled ist....
Was a good idea, because I had the chance to inspect the lifter as well.
I ordered a adjustable timing gear set and after simulating the whole engine in Dynosim, I decided to iinstall the cam at 104°ICL, because it produces enough power from 3000rpm up, but the low end is a bit weak.
The converter has a stall speed in this combo arround 2800rpm, so I think it's o.k.
The transmission is a A999 - good for the light A-body.
I had a lot of work over the past two years, and I am looking foreward to drive it next year.
My daily drive is a Dodge Ram1500 (5,7 Hemi), so for german conditions in everyway better than driving a Volkswagen :)

Ok I have a similiar cam 292 mopar cam. Also installed @104°. For rear gear have 3.91's. I think your cam may do good with this gear or maybe 3.55s. Converter is a key factor need a quality converter. Try to make sure you have a well made converter. I have a 3400-3600 FTI 9.5"stall converter.

Also this cam size with 240° duration @ 50 plus require more initial spark timing to have good bottom end probably 18° or more and total about 34° or 35°.
