With that said, i will relay what was first said to me when i was contemplating going down this road. BUILD YOU FIRST TURBO MOTOR WITH A ENG THAT YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT. MORE THAN LIKELY YOU WILL DAMAGE THE FIRST ON!!!!
For me it was the.... "turbos is not for the poor man". It will cost you to get the right turbo setup. and if you just throw something together with some spare part from you garage........it's probably not going to live vary long.
My neighbour just went down this road with a 350 chiv good forged pistons, the right turbo with all the high dollar lightweight parts in it. set the wastegate too high, with a 10 to 1 motor. it lived in his sons truck 3 day before it had major blow by. pulled eng and had 5 out of the 8 forged piston cracked.
They are re thinking on whether that motor will go back with a turbo or not................
