1970 Swinger 340 FJ5

I actually know the car and the original builder who is not the guy selling it now. The fender tag and vin are legit, it has the number stamped in the lip of the trunk too. The door sticker is a repop.

For the one poster, that space between FJ5 and A01 is proper as is the 'END' being crooked. I have pictures of other fender tags showing the crooked 'END' so that must have been a tooling thing. The other fender tag I have also shows no signs of inspection stamps.

The disc brakes on the car are from a 1973' and up car. That's the way the car was when the builder got it. I asked him if the car had the washer welded to the fron of the K-member and he didn't remember so it is quite possible that the whole kmemeber from a 73 and up car was put into it. It had a drag racing history/life so who knows what they were thinking when they wanted large bolt pattern brakes on it, probably for better wheel selection..?

The engine is a 69 date code but not matching. And the transmission is a 727 lock up unit out of a 1974 vehicle. The diff is not the original one either. All large bolt pattern.

I contacted the seller on EBay and he was claiming date code correct motor and a matching numbers trani when I asked him. Shame shame!!! Unless by some twist of fait he located the original transmission in his short time of ownership....

None the less the builder and I have talked several times and he put many many hours and over $30k USD into restoring the car.

all this said what do you chaps think its worth?
