426 hemi info : new to big blocks

The 3.54's are pretty steep with an overdrive. You may want to consider lowering them. I run 3.73's in my '70 with the Passon 5-speed and 29" tall Nitto Drag Radials. It's hard to keep the rpms above 2000 on the local freeways....legally.

If you really want to be able to enjoy the car, consider running EFI on it. Once you drive a performance EFI system, it would be a pain to put up with carbs on the street again.

I had problems hooking up AND having compliant ride quality on the street until I found what I consider the holy grail of rear suspensions after 30+ years of trying. Nitto's are a large part of the answer. You better consider welding in some sub-frame connectors too.
