A trip to my friend Johans shop for welding the rest of the exhaustsystem. The Spitfire headers is great but how to to get rest of the 2,5 inch system takes some skills. Johan is the go-to guy. He is a welding pro!

The oiling system was a little tricky. Actually so tricky that I can't use the oil filtet relocating kit. When I have my Spitfire headers I can put on the adapter!
So with some measuring I was able to use the factory 90-degree oil filter bracket. So now I have a complete set incl new oil preasure hoses for sale!!

Ok, next issue to deal with is the carburator rods. I have got hold of the rod but I'm wondering about the mounting pin. Is there any special pins that can be bought so I can connect the two carburators?

Where did you get that kit for the oil filter relocation? That black piece may be small enough diameter-wise to fit on a slant oil pump. I've got a regular V8 relocation adapter and is actually too large to fit on a slant oil pump.

Don! I bought and collected pieces here and there to get what I wanted. However I didn't know that the space was so little with headers!! I wanted it to look like in the old days! Interested in the kit?

Yes. Can you tell me what the diameter is of the black housing that fits on the oil filter area of a V8?

It's been a while but now two almost NOS Carter carbs is in place. They have less then 30 hours on them! Next step is the linkage! Progress, here we come!

My son Kevin asked me if it was ok to use my 2 dr sedan next weekend on Wheels Nationals. Sure, I said. However there are some things that need attention. No problem, he said. And then started a marathon work of something I never seen him do.
Prop.shaft, valve adjustment, adding spark plug wires, do the vacuum hoses, connecting fuel pump, connecting steering column and bolted it!!! Holy cow, we had time to go and pick up the old M/T valve covers in old school condition. I bought a rebuilt 3853 but it must have been years ago so now I'm rebuilding it.
Hopefully we can fire it up tomorrow. State inspection on Friday!
