How would I find out where my Dart was sold new? I know it was in WA state, but don't know the dealers name. Anyone know?

You would need a record from or mentioning the selling dealership. Original window sticker, factory invoice to dealership, dealership invoice to client as a few possible examples.

Thanks. Don't think I can locate any of those. I'm trying to find out so I can get a repro window sticker made for my car.

Is there a website that might list dealers from that era? I might be able to narrow it down at least.

Save your money, the bogus ones are easily spotted & bogus documents can ruin a reputation.

Unless you know what city your car was sold out of it's pretty hard to find out where.

Mike...thanks for replying. The original owner I bought it from lives in a small town, with no dealerships, so it would have to be a nearby town dealership. I contacted the OO and he can't remember where his Dad bought it, but figures the dealership is out of business.

My 66 was sold in Washington state also I believe. I have mentioned the dealer with no response. That happens.

Do you know where in WA yours was sold?
I looked through my old posts. I must have posted it before the software change or I just added the info to another thread. Thanks

If it's a 65, you can send off to Chrysler Historical. I got the info for my 66 Barracuda. They sent the IBM punch card and a sheet decoding the punch card. Included was all the options as well as the dealership where it was sold and the date shipped. IIRC it was $45. Here's the link. Right above the glare spot, you can see the region and dealer code. My was originally sold at Brooks Motor's in Jacksonville, FL.

I sent off to Chrysler Historical for the info on my long departed 65 GT and the 65 Barracuda I still have. They sent me a bunch of info, including the original selling dealer. Don't know if they're still doing it but it was $45 per car and worth it to me. Hope it helps.

EDIT: ^^^^^ beat me to it lol!

Near Vancouver? My 67 fastback was serviced at Pederson Motors Dodge, 6th & Broadway, Vancouver WA. Also at Camas Motors Dodge/Chrysler, 518 NE Birch St, Camas WA.

Thanks guys. The page "66fyssh" quotes is still alive, so I'm assuming they still have the service. My car was built in the US, but it and I are now in Canada. I hope that doesn't change things.

They should still send it to you. You'll need to print the form, fill it out and send it in. I was impressed by what they sent: 1). A nice letter saying they apologize for not having more information. 2). a photocopy of the IBM punch card, and 3). the break down of VIN and options. Not bad for $45 for a 50 year old car!

I don't know if this will help you. I have a 1970 B Body car that was purchased at Don Bryan Motors Inc. 130 North Main Street. Omak, Washington State. I believe his dealership number was 98841. It's not far from the Canadian border.

There was a dealer in Omak? I've been there... pretty far out in the sticks.

Thanks. That number sounds like a zip code....could the dealer numbers actually be the zip code of the dealer's location?
