Well look at that! Some actual progress!
I decided I couldn't wait for a miracle to happen any longer so I went ahead and put thread inserts in my LD340. I managed to drill about as well as can be expected ...
I did a total of ten holes and I guess I should have started with the less critical ones ... They do look good with a new insert, though.
Here's the whole sha-bang, water fittings and all. Not sure if I put the thermostat in the right way but hey, what could go wrong? (I put the spring side down)
