So upon taking my 1967 Barracuda grills apart from the chrome encasing in order to rechrome and repaint the assemblies separately; I've come to notice a difference between the two black grill pieces and I did not take notice of it until after I took them apart. One of the black pieces have a flat edge on one side while the other is curved. Why is this and which one is left and which is right? Also the curved piece is beveled/contoured. Which side of contour is toward the outside of the car? The beveled side or the flat side?

Why did you take these apart, totally unnecessary.
A major ***** to get back together.

Flip your top picture horizontal. That should match these.

Thank you again Dave, Tho a pic near the end of the grill where the headlamp is for the passenger side would confirm what I'm looking for in installation.
BTW:
Since your grills and headlamp bezels are out, I take it that you too are in the restoration process. How is your project coming along?? I am nearing completion and am excited in getting it back on the road.

never seen a flat side like that, how did it even fit the headlight bucket ?

Uh ohhhhhh.... I had to rechrome the trim and want to repaint the grills

They're heavily anodized aluminum, not chrome.
You can have aluminum chromed, but I would guess that is not your intention.
You can also get them polished, but it is a bear of a job and not cheap.
If I can offer you a suggestion, look for a really nice pair, they're out there.

Here is a pic of what they looked like new from the factory:

The extra cut and curved end cap ads to cost. Passengers side had to be cut because it conflicted with something, headlight bucket/adjuster location if my memory servers.
Just another one of those little things I had to learn the hard way. The lesson to learn here..., Snap lots of pics before taking assemblies apart. We didn't have digital cameras in our pockets back in my day. Cheers

Actually I no longer have the set. They were sold to an accomplished and competent restorer that just may be posting in this thread.

Anyway here is the best I can do for you on close ups .....................

And don't be thinking of swapping to a different year grill. Altho they look very similar, each year is different. I found that out the hard way. I had at least one example of each year, all laid out, ready to make ONE best of, with all those available parts. Well that wasn't going to happen.

Thanks for the pics....A much better understanding to do it right the first time! :) :)
when I traded for my basket case 68 fastback, it came w/ parts for all 3 yr. barracudas. None of them had a square end like that.
Who knows ?
