" Ready To Run " Distributor Dissasembly (Pic Heavy)
Here's a step by step disassembly of one of the "Ready to Run" HEI SB units. (Continuous Edit so please be patient)
Remove HEI Cover and unscrew Vacuum advance.
Remove ruber wiring grommet to gain access to vacuum advance lever
Look inside (where green wire is in picture) and you should see the vacuum advance lever hooked onto a nub. Pry the lever downwards while turning the advance counter clockwise and it will pop off. Remove vacuum advance.
This is a picture of the vacuum advance nub.
Now you can rotate the disc to remove the allen bolts holding down the assembly.
Removed, exposes the springs and weights.
To adjust curve bend the spring hold down "hooks".
