How to Mount Spare Tire on a 1969 Dart 340 GTS
Did a ton of searching on the forum and couldn't find the specific answer to this question - how does all the spare tire stuff go together on a 69 GTS 340 Dart? Look at the picture to see where I'm at right now. Looked at the spare label on the trunk and it is almost no help. This is what I have so far: spare rod in floor, spare tire in valve stem down, hook on top of wheel, base holding hook and spare down. Car has E70-14's which is a very wide and tall tire. Is that the correct place for the hook? Is the tire supposed to be that much above the trunk pan? The trunk was replaced on this car and the repo pan was a poor repo - is it too shallow? The cardboard is up like 3-4 inches above the rest of the floor pan and I don't see a way to get the circle hold down in on top of the board. Any advice is appreciated.
