How to Mount Spare Tire on a 1969 Dart 340 GTS
I believe the instructions show the hook on the underside of the wheel. The long bolt passes through the hook, then up through the wheel. The rest looks right. But if you have a board, then there should be a recessed disk that sits flat in the center hold of the board and then the big wing nut goes on top of that. The original spares were very small and did not stick up above the well, but it is pretty much unavoidable anymore. Here you can see my spare tire and how the jack is stored in the trunk in the background. The hook is under the wheel. I can see if I can go out there in the daylight tomorrow and get a pic of how I have the spare mounted in my trunk with the board.
