Dash Pad

-
Hi SpeedThrills,
Since I ordered this same dash pad in December, I'd like to be able to tell you about the quality. Unfortunately, it has been on back-order, and I've yet to receive it. I'd suggest looking at something else.

If you have one you could always use a cap

Ya, I used a glue on style dash cap. It fit great and only cost about $100. Everyone that looks at my car is always surprised when I tell them it's a dash cap.

I'm surprised the cap looks good. And glad, too! Usually those things look like a bad toupee'. I'm in no hurry, I just got back to working on my 74 Dart Sport-to-70-71 Duster clone and I have a long list of needs.
Is Classic usually a good source?

I got mine from classic. It fit well. Best advice i can offer is start install with first sheetmetal nut in the center hole first and work your way to the ends. And put sheetmetal self tapping screws in last. It fits very tight and has no give to it, so probably no split vinyl years later.

I got a new dash pad (not a cap) for my '72 Demon from Dantes Mopar in August/15 for $275. If the extra cost is not an issue it might be something you may consider.

I put the tan version of that Classic Dash Pad in my '73. TOTALLY happy with it (and Classic)

Not to hijack this thread, but Dusterdenovo I see you have the classic autosound kick panel speaker setup too. I am looking at buying those. How well did they fit? How nice do the speakers sound? I was going to buy speakers for the panels seperate as the kick panels are $60 cheaper without the speakers.

glue ons are a cheap, quick fix, that look really good
Gonna go that route for my sons 69 notchback. I got a decent shaped not deformed but cracked dashpad for it off a granny green dart. Gonna do the dash cap on his. Nice thing is coverlay manufacturing is located in San Angelo Texas about an hour away from me. I can just take a drive down there and pick one up.
