Little update: I installed a new starter, since I wanted to do that anyways. Replaced the cables to the starter and to and from the new starter relay I bought a few days before. Today I drove the car and its still starting on its own. I think its most likely the ignition switch. However, the car was also overcharging as the regulator is toast too. Already ordered that. I dont have it connected anymore while I drive but I did for 3 minutes on the way to the gas station and then disconnect it again for the longer drive. At the gas station it would start on its own again but after that not anymore. So either playing with the key stopped it or maybe its related to the battery being overcharged. Either way, I would like to install a push button to start the engine. I am not able to get off the plastic behind the wheel and don't want to break it. Could someone tell me which colors the cables have that engage the starter? Otherwise I just make a new one from the starter relay. I guess that will work too.
